A client residing in London and working for a major American IT company was looking for a new home because he was relocating to Tokyo
Challenges
The client was looking for a large house in Minato Ward. In Japan, large Western-style houses are relatively rare, and the client needed a location that would provide easy access to both his children’s school and his workplace. Additionally, they were bringing a dog with them and required a garage. As the client was looking for a house rather than an apartment, finding a property that matched their criteria was quite challenging.
Solutions
I used my network of real estate agents and diligently accessed property databases three times a day—morning, afternoon, and evening. After some effort, I finally found a suitable property. One evening, I came across a newly listed house in Minato Ward and immediately sent the details to the client in London. It was late at night in Japan, but the property perfectly matched their criteria, so I wanted to share it right away. I hoped they would like it and wanted to secure it quickly if it was a good fit.
The following day, I received several photos from the management company and decided to make an offer without the client viewing the property in person.
Results
The contract was processed while the client was still in London. When the client finally arrived in Japan, they went to see the property for the first time and were thrilled with it. They were very happy, and their family also visited and was pleased with the choice. The dog would arrive after quarantine, but I am sure the dog will be happy too. It was a great feeling to know that the whole family and the dog were happy with the decision, and I was also glad that the client was satisfied with my service.
Later, this client asked me to help find accommodation for a colleague who would be relocating to Japan.
